From the matriarch Nanna Val, with over 60 years experience within the butchering industry, then led to her son Gary taking on the passion for the business. 40 years later we continue with the same key values of providing our local area with high quality service and traditional butchery skills. As of present comes the third generation with Kate, daughter of Gary with the qualification under her belt, joins the family team with her enthusiastic approach and eagerness to continue on with the 40 year overnight success of the BJ’s Meats story.
We make sure all our animals are sourced ethically, locally & free range as possible. We ensure that every part of the animal is made to good use with minimal to no waste, creating a more sustainable lifestyle.

I have been shopping here for 10 years. Trustworthy, fresh, honest and very hard working people. The meat mixes and recipes are spot on and super consistent. Pricing is consistent with market value and they still remain competitive. I appreciate this as it is incredibly difficult be competitive with a fluctuative industry. I have purchased all sorts of cuts and minces for variuous recipes over the years and I am always happy with the end result.

Have purchased fillet steak, rib eye, pork fillet and chicken breasts here. All have been top quality and prices were better than elsewhere. I absolutely love going to get my porterhouse steaks and all sorts of other things from BJ’s. The staff are always friendly and welcoming! Would recommend BJ’s to anyone. Also, try their home made sausages rolls, they’re divine!

Really friendly staff even though I'm vegan and only buy fresh bones for my furbabies. (Better that than they go to waste.) They have a huge range of fresh and frozen food to choose from. You can just browse through the displays choosing whatever you need from chicken necks, lamb ribs, fatty bones or enormous marrow bones.
